Umhlanga Hotels
Umhlanga is a buzzing seaside town just outside of Durban. With its long sandy beaches it is a very popular resort and a great place to take the family, however in recent years many businesses have relocated here, and it has also become an important commercial centre. This has meant that the population of the town has grown hugely, and it has become a very desirable place to live. Umhlanga is home to the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, one of the biggest shopping centres in South Africa, which features a theatre, three cinemas, a rock climbing wall and skateboard park, as well as hundreds of retail outlets and more than 30 restaurants. Other attractions in and around the town include the Beachwood Mangrove Nature Reserve, which is home to the largest number of mangrove trees in the Durban area, and the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve.
The nearest major airport is King Shaka International airport, which is located about 15km away from Umhlanga and connects Durban and the surrounding area to other major cities in South Africa as well as a number of international destinations.
